Boise State University Campus

Boise State University resides in the middle of Boise, Idaho, and it is perhaps best known for being home to “The Blue,” the iconic blue turf of the Lyle Smith Field of Albertsons Stadium. The first non-green artificial turf in the country, The Blue has come to represent Boise State’s blue-collar work ethic, and it serves as a symbol of Boise State’s creativity and innovation.

Serving over 27k students and over 200 programs, students and professionals alike benefit from Boise State’s range of modern and once-modern facilities. Campus spans nearly 300 acres, running along the south bank of the Boise River with on-campus access to the 29-mile river path of the Boise River Greenbelt. Mid-October is an ideal time to visit because of the vibrant fall foliage and mild weather with daily high temperatures around 65° and only a 10% chance of rainfall!

Lodging

We will secure blocks of rooms at two hotels located a quarter mile from the northwest side of campus, where the conference will be held:

Residence Inn by Marriott

  • Rate: $189-209/room
  • Address: 1401 S Lusk Pl, Boise, ID 83706
TownePlace Suites by Marriott

  • Rate: $191/room
  • Address: 1455 S Capitol Blvd, Boise, ID 83706

Both hotels have suites that include kitchens to accommodate those who prefer preparing their own meals. Some suites also come with multi-room/bathroom options that house up to six occupants, a cost-effective option for those bringing multiple tutors to the conference.

Getting Around

The Boise Airport (BOI) is only about three miles away from Boise State’s campus, so options for commuting from the airport to campus are relatively affordable:

  • UberX (four people): $16
  • UberXL (six people): $20
  • Valley Regional Transit bus fares: $1.50/person

Boise State’s campus and downtown location are highly walkable, and for scenic views, attendees are encouraged to walk along the Boise River Greenbelt, which spans the north side of campus. Boise State offers three Bronco Shuttles that attendees can use at no cost to get across campus and to Main Street in downtown Boise.

Explore Boise

Boise, known as “The City of Trees,” showcases the wooded environment of the Pacific Northwest. Housed in the Boise and Owyhee Mountains, the City of Boise has quickly grown from a rural community to a thriving urban metropolis. During the conference, attendees will be able to visit the nearby Boise Art Museum, the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, and Boise’s lively downtown scene. The Boise State campus connects to Julia Davis Park and the Boise Zoo via the Friendship Bridge, which spans the Boise River.
