Peer Writing Tutor Alumni Research Project

If you have ever trained or supervised peer writing tutors or been a peer tutor yourself, you have probably noticed that tutoring is as beneficial for the tutor as it is for the writer, maybe even more beneficial. Collaborative learning really does seem to work in two directions, although not in entirely transparent ways. What interests us, and we hope what will interest you, is how significant the experience of collaborative learning is for peer tutors even after they graduate from college, leave the Writing Center or Writing Fellows Program behind, and plunge into their post-graduate lives.

Praxis: A Writing Center Journal

Praxis is a biannual electronic publication sponsored by the University of Texas Undergraduate Writing Center, a component of the Division of Rhetoric and Writing at the University of Texas at Austin. It is a forum for writing center practitioners everywhere. They welcome articles from writing center consultants and administrators related to training, consulting, labor issues, administration, and writing center news, initiatives, and scholarship.

PeerCentered

PeerCentered is a space for peer writing tutors/consultants to blog with their collegues from around the world. Since many writing centers already keep their own shared journals, we think this is a good way to promote/explore writing center work. Bloggers here will share their ideas, experiences, or insight. If you work in the writing center and want to join the blog, contact Clint at Clint.Gardner@slcc.edu.

UCWbLing

UCWbLing is published by the peer writing tutors of the DePaul University Center for Writing-based Learning and features daily commentary about tutoring and its issues, discussions about writing center administration, news about conference opportunities, and more.

The Dangling Modifier

The Dangling Modifier is a newsletter for, about and by peer writing tutors. The newsletter gives peer tutors a venue to publish their research, and to share their ideas with other peer writing tutors.

CFPList: Call for Papers database

A database of “call for papers” announcements for academic conferences.
