Since 1984, NCPTW has hosted a conference focused on peer writing tutoring and collaborative learning. From its inception, NCPTW has promoted peer writing tutors to develop presentations and present them to their peers–one of the first such academic conferences. NCPTW offers peer tutors the opportunity to contribute in professional and scholarly ways to the larger writing center community, and we’re dedicated to providing forums for tutors to share and present research at national and international conferences.

NCPTW professionals, play a vital role in mentoring peer tutors in their presentations, and also present at the conference, many of them with peer tutors from their writing centers. Topics at the conference range from collaborative approaches, responding to the challenges of creating and operating writing centers, developing innovative peer tutoring programs, and promoting the work of their peer tutors.
